So what does this quote add to us sailors? It helps us to understand very well the difference between taking refuge and surrendering. It is necessary to retreat and take shelter when necessary; however, this should not be confused with not being strong enough in the face of difficulties, giving up and surrendering at the first opportunity. Doesn´t that apply to all of us in life, even if you´re not a sailor? If we feel very comfortable and safe but disfunctional, just as the ship is very safe in the port but far from its main function, wouldn´t we be standing unsuccessfully without taking any risks for new targets and purposes, doing nothing like a ship stuck in port? Just as the sailor is not afraid of the storms and focuses on his purpose, lifting the ship from the port and embarking on a voyage, but taking refuge in a safe harbor when the ship encounters a great storm that he cannot withstand, in fact, every person must be strong, brave in the face of difficulties, on the way to reach his goal, to be strong, brave, to his goal and even to himself. Maybe he should know how to go back and take shelter in the harbor in the face of the difficulties he will harm
